::

Boy how I miss taking a bath in the river on the islands surrounding my city of Belém do Pará ... like one this, called Mosqueiro Island. The term " Mosqueiro " originates from the ancient practice of "moqueio " the fish by Tupinamba Indians who inhabited the island. In the early period of Portuguese colonization, the Tupinambá supplied meat and fish to the city of Belém. The Portuguese, unfamiliar with the term moqueio, called the island Mosqueiro, which was the name of several places on the Iberian Peninsula. In Portuguese, the word mosqueiro means "flypaper".
